About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Engineer to oversee and optimize our plant operations in Pune. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high efficiency on the shop floor, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive or heavy industrial manufacturing, with proven expertise in maximizing equipment effectiveness and eliminating process waste.
Key responsibilities
- Shop Floor Management: Oversee daily production activities, ensuring production targets are met on time and within budget constraints.
- OEE Optimization: Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by analyzing downtime data and implementing corrective actions.
- Process Improvement: Lead Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and optimize workflow layouts.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate production bottlenecks, quality defects, or equipment failures using standard RCA tools (5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless plant operations.
- SAP Reporting: Utilize SAP PP (Production Planning) modules for daily production logging, inventory tracking, and material requisitions.
