About the role
Ravan.ai is seeking a hands-on Chief Technology Officer to own the technology vision, architecture and engineering organization behind its AI-powered sales automation platform.
The company builds real-time multilingual voice AI agents, conversational website avatars, intelligent calling systems and end-to-end sales automation infrastructure. Its systems support high-volume production workloads across voice, vision and multi-channel customer engagement.
This role requires a technical executive who has scaled production distributed systems, can own architecture end-to-end and can drive both product innovation and operational excellence. The position may begin as a senior fractional or contract engagement with a path to full-time, although it is recorded here as a full-time role.
Work mode: Remote-friendly, with preference for overlap with India and UAE time zones.
Start date: Immediate.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own Ravan.ai's technical strategy, architecture and engineering roadmap.
- Lead the architecture and scaling of real-time voice AI, agent-orchestration, CRM-integration and multi-channel automation platforms.
- Guide the development of production-grade distributed microservices using Go and Django.
- Drive low-latency infrastructure, targeting sub-300-millisecond interactions where technically applicable.
- Own decisions involving REST and gRPC APIs, asynchronous processing, data stores, observability and service boundaries.
- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing engineering organization.
- Establish a culture of technical ownership, code quality, reliability and rapid iteration.
- Ensure production systems handle concurrency, failures, performance bottlenecks and outages effectively.
- Collaborate with product, AI/ML and business leadership to translate strategy into technical execution.
- Champion CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, security, privacy, calling compliance and operational excellence.
- Evaluate emerging AI and voice technologies while controlling latency, infrastructure cost and output quality.
- Remain sufficiently hands-on to review architecture, investigate production issues and contribute to critical technical decisions.
